I bought this earlier in the year but the first event I had a chance to actually use it (other than display) was on 16 December.
I made a baked rice pudding from Amelia Simmons" American Cookery (1796) as dessert for volunteer staff working and event at Moores Creek National Battlefield.
Last night, Christmas, I didn't have a bowl large enough for the vegetables that were under the roast duck. The steep pan was pressed into service as a serving dish.
This has moved from the strictly living history supplies into the regular kitchen cabinet now!
